I am pleased to announce that the LUMINOSITY Exhibition at the Studio Anise Gallery has been extended through to January 2015, with a special Holiday Season Artist Reception planned for December 4th, 2014, 6-9pm. For more details please contact Rainer E. Schulze at Studio Anise Gallery, 212 933 1406 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Studio Anise Gallery has been a perfect venue to showcase the collection of 12 crystal sculptures, and would like to thank Owner, Paul Anise, for his vision in hosting this illuminating exhibition in the heart of Soho, at 21 Greene Street. I invite all glass collector’s and glass artist’s visiting New York City during the summer months to come by the gallery to view the exhibition, and also to the closing event party in early September.
One of the major concerns for all glass artists but especially for the engraver of glass, is that it be displayed properly and so I was delighted that the display space at Studio Anise Gallery provided both excellent lighting and also a perfect venue for visitors to view the work.
Studio Anise is an exclusive interior design gallery which represents several leading designers from Europe, providing bespoke furnishings and art for both residential and commercial environments.
As a member of the Art Alliance of Contemporary Glass which is based in Dallas, Texas, I was delighted to provide a presentation talk on the LUMINOSITY Collection, to the New York Metropolitan Contemporary Glass Group, (the NY Chapter of the AACG) and to also provide background on its inspiration and the hand engraved techniques employed in its creation.
President, Fred Sanders and his wife Susan are wonderful ambassadors for the group, and appreciated them being able to attract a significant number of its 200 strong membership to the event. The group is most familiar with studio hot glass, and so the introduction of hand engraved crystal was a new direction in glass appreciation for many of the members.
Also in attendance was Brazilian born glass artist Simone Kestelman, who is originally from Sao Paulo, but now based in New York City and currently in the process of setting up her own new studio and gallery
The New York Metropolitan Contemporary Glass Group are passionate about glass and tour glass galleries and artist studio’s across North America, so I was very honoured to meet so many knowledgeable members during their visit. It was also a pleasure to meet Urban Glass, Chairman, Lawrence Pitterman and his wife Marjie, who have done so much in raising the profile and value of glass in United States with the introduction of Urban Glass in Brooklyn, NY.
Thanks to Paul Anise kindly hosting the event the presentation provided a wonderful opportunity to expose hand engraved crystal to the group, and would also like to personally thank Fred Sanders for his generous and kind words, and the support of the NY Metropolitan Contemporary Glass Group.
“As President of the New York Metropolitan Contemporary Glass Group, I want to thank you for the time you spent with a large contingent of our members at your stunning LUMINOSITY exhibition at Studio Anise Gallery. Our members were very impressed by the beauty of your work and also the technical means of achieving the results all by hand. Your work is brilliant and we look forward to maintaining our relationship.”
